Tata Motors January sales up 16%
Tata Motors has reported 16% increase in sales (including exports) of commercial and passenger vehicles to 87,465 vehicles during January 2012 compared to same period in 2011.
Domestic sales of the company's commercial and passenger vehicles for January 2012 were 80,382 units reporting an increase of 16% over 70,475 units sold in same period last year; cumulative sales of the company for the fiscal are 714,235 units, an increase of 11% over 642,415 units it sold last year.
Commercial vehicles sales of the company in January 2012 in the domestic market were 45,713 units, an increase of 14% compared to 40,263 vehicles sold in January 2011.
The company posted light commercial vehicles (LCV) sales of 27,375 units, an increase of 15% over 23,776 vehicles sold in January last year; M&HCV sales stood at 18,338 units, an increase of 11% compared to 16,487 vehicles sold in the same period prior year.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal are 420,045 units, an increase of 18% over 2011; cumulative LCV sales are 254,340 units a growth of 24% while M&HCV sales stood at 165,705 units a growth of 10%.
The passenger vehicles business reported a total sale and distribution offtake of 36,770 units in the domestic market in January 2012, an increase of 14% compared to 32,386 units sold in January 2011.
