Nissan unveils NV200 compact cargo van in US
Japanese automaker Nissan Motor has unveiled the new 2013 NV200 compact cargo van at the Chicago Auto Show in US.
The new NV200 is based on the company's NV Cargo which was unveiled in 2011 and the Nissan NV Passenger which is scheduled to go on sale this year.
Nissan NV200 is powered by a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder 16-valve DOHC engine mated to a next-gen Xtronic CVT, which combines smooth operation and responsive performance.
Nissan Commercial Vehicles and Fleet vice president Joe Castelli said there is an increasing need for a 'right-sized' van that optimizes cargo space while offering the best possible fuel economy and an affordable price - the exact sweet spots of the innovative new Nissan NV200.
"Businesses today, both large and small, are also looking for vehicles that represent their brands in the best light - smart, innovative, and professional and NV200 does that and much more," Castelli said.
Nissan said that the new compact commercial platform of the NV200 offers a large cargo capacity by allowing a 1,500-pound maximum payload and the extra utility is offered by integrated mounting points through which racks and shelves can be installed without drilling sidewalls.
The company said that the new cargo van is set to join the growing lineup of Nissan Commercial Vehicles in early 2013.
