Honda to debut new ILX, RDX at Chicago Auto Show

ABR Staff Writer Published 02 February 2012

Japanese automaker Honda will debut the production versions of 2013 Acura ILX and the completely redesigned 2013 Acura RDX at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show in US.

The 2013 Acura ILX will come in three distinct powertrain options that include a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder with a five-speed automatic transmission, a 2.4-liter four-cylinder mated to six speed manual transmission and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder hybrid powertrain.

Honda said that the hybridized ILX version is anticipated to return 35mpg in city and 38mpg on highways.

The new 2013 RDX, on the other hand, swaps its former turbocharged four-cylinder for a new 3.5-liter V-6 engine producing 273hp, a 33hp more than the previous engine and is mated to a new six-speed automatic and the real time AWD with intelligent control system.

The company claims that RDX will offer better fuel economy among non-hybrid, gasoline-powered luxury SUVs at 20 mpg city/28 city/highway mpg in its front-wheel-drive form.
