ABR Staff Writer Published 21 February 2012

British sportscar manufacturer Aston Martin has unveiled the 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage sports coupe, prior to its debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.

Aston Martin said that the design of new coupe was based on the company's Vantage S and N400 limited edition models.

The company's entry-level sports car is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 engine producing 313kW and 470Nm combined to a six-speed manual transmission while the optional six-speed Sportshift automated manual transmission has been replaced with the seven-speed Sportshift II.

V8 Vantage sports coupe comes with new front brakes featuring 380mm two-piece cast iron discs with six-piston calipers, which the company claims will offer better feel and power.

Aston Martin has equipped the coupe with a new steering column which features re-valved power-steering pump delivering a quicker ratio of 15:1 compared to 17:1 and offering more precision and feedback for a totally engaging drive.

The 2012 Aston Martin V8 Vantage is available at a starting price of GBP 84,995 ($134,658).
